The Messy Middle

The Messy Middle – John Monday

Instead of giving answers, God places us in complex, messy, fraught relationships and tells us, “Love and trust me as I have loved and trusted you. And love and trust each other.” It’s not for us to help God achieve his goals; it’s our job and privilege to love each other, to hold one another’s hand in the pain, the joy, the confusion... in the mess.

#WholeLifeReflections for this week:

  • What are the doctrines that are so important to you that you’d be willing to break fellowship with a Christian who disagrees?
  • What does it mean to “Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself?
  • Has there ever been a time that you spoke on behalf of God?
  • Are you comfortable with believing that some of your personal doctrines might be wrong?
  • Are you okay with believing that some of your church doctrines might be wrong?
