Love Is...Not A Grudge Holder

Love Is…Not A Grudge Holder – Ken Wetmore

When Jesus told his disciples to forgive others 70 times 7, he wasn’t suggesting we keep a tally board. He was suggesting we are to forgive so much that we can’t keep track of how much we have forgiven. The happiest people are those who are able to let go of the scoreboard and hold onto God’s love..

Our #WholeLifeReflections for this week:

  • Do you hold grudges and keep track of how you have been wronged? How often do you think about how you have been hurt by others in the past? Who has the largest “debt account” in your mind?
  • If you aren’t sure if you hold grudges, one way of knowing is thinking about how often your response to someone else’s complaint about you is, “Yeah but you . . .”
  • What would it look like if you eliminated the phrase, “Yeah, but you . . .”? How difficult would it be to stop rehearsing in your mind hurts from the past? How would it change your life if you did?
  • Practice changing your thoughts from how you have been hurt to how God has loved and blessed you.
