ARISE to Old Testament Spiritual Justice

The Old Testament points toward the arrival of God on earth through the birth of Jesus. Jesus’ purpose was to illuminate the true character of God, and his life clearly taught that mercy, plus justice, equal righteousness. One cannot be a true follower of Jesus and not ARISE to the concern for justice and mercy.

  • Are there words that make you angry more because of your politics than because of your walk with Jesus? Do you ever mix up what Jesus likes with your political and cultural views?
  • In your own life, what does it look like to be in a right relationship with God? Do you view things you do for others as things you do for God or both?
  • If a large part of believing God and being obedient to God means being kind, fair, and equitable to others, how are you doing at believing and being obedient?
